(ABC 6 News)–Austin Public Schools has released their active shooter drill report for this past school year. According to the report, the district complied with the requirements by statute, including for trauma-informed drills, and post drill debriefing opportunities. “Tonight we reported on our active shooter drills in the Austin Public Schools just highlighting for the board when they take place, if there was any opt outs from families, so the board is informed,” said APS Superintendent Joey Page. The district noted that no students or parents opted out of the drill. They had at least three drills at each of their schools this past school year.
