The blaze broke out at Hursley Sports Club on Park Road shortly after 11pm on Saturday, August 8. Fire crews found the building "well alight" and began returning to their stations around 3am. At the time of writing, the site has been cordoned off with little of the building left standing. A Facebook post from Hursley Sports and Social Club said: "As you may have seen on the news, at approximately 11pm last night, a significant fire broke out at the Clubhouse. The club was a private members' organisation within the grounds of Hursley Park, with membership linked to IBM employees, retirees, contractors and Hursley residents.
