Toei dropped the news back in January during Japan’s Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri 40th anniversary festival, and the hype hasn't slowed down since.
Before the new story officially kicks off, Super is getting a Dragon Ball Z Kai-style makeover starting this October.
That means the Dragon Ball Super anime remake will consist of about 19/20 episodes, with the prevailing thought being that the Moro arc will then quickly follow.
With the fall 2026 anime season starting in October, that means the Dragon Ball Super anime remake should conclude just before the Spring 2027 anime season kicks off in April.
Speaking back in April at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event in Los Angeles, Dragon Ball executive producer Akio Iyoku explained the decision to remake the Beerus arc from the Dragon Ball Super anime, stating the goal is to, "express the world of Dragon Ball Super- Toriyama-sensei's creation, with more precision and accuracy.
