The La Porte County Sheriff's Office reports deputies on patrol in Terrace Acres Mobile Home Park were exiting onto US 20 around 4:49 p.m. when they observed an SUV traveling west. The SUV was recognized as being associated with Jacob A. Gilmore, a man wanted by the sheriff's office for Invasion of Privacy, Level 6 Felony. The deputies then tailed the SUV at which point the duo observed a traffic violation before attempting a traffic stop near US 20 and County Line Road. Deputies say Gilmore ignored their instructions and began to light and smoke a glass pipe before exiting the SUV.
