Kendal-based guitarist, singer and songwriter Rob Tidd has unveiled The Mexican Farmer, a personal exploration of love, loss and grief following his wife's sudden death in 2020. His powerful lead guitar and gritty vocals featured prominently in heavy rock band Bashful Alley and he helped define the Britrock sound of 1990s band Dollface. It wasn’t until 2023 that he was able to return to the recording studio and produce "Wine Lips", a song that movingly describes his wife’s death and his own grief. Rob describes The Mexican Farmer as aimed at the fans of Bruce Springsteen, Mark Knopfler, ZZ Top and British Folk. The Mexican Farmer is available now on Bandcamp at robtidd.bandcamp.com and all major streaming platforms.
