Connor Ellis, aged 19 and of Ffordd Thomas Gee in Denbigh, was sentenced in his absence by Mold Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon. Prosecutor Brian Robinson told the court that the incident happened on December 12 last year in the car park of Aldi in Denbigh. Mr Robinson said the driver, Ellis, stopped and was "very upset" by what had happened. The victim was taken to Denbigh Infirmary by a retire doctor at the scene, and the defendant attended Denbigh police station to report the matter. Ellis told the court he is a full time university student with a clean driving licence and "no consistent income."
