The window for the potentially severe storms is a larger one, with the threat continuing for hours and even overnight. According to the National Weather Service, storms could begin moving into parts of the region at 3 p.m. That includes damaging winds and hail but "a threat for tornadoes cannot be ruled out," according to the NWS.
