The archives of the Northern Times are stored by Golspie Heritage Society. 100 YEARS AGOFrom the newspaper of August 5, 1926The children and the young people of the congregation of the United Free Church, Strathy, held their picnic on Tuesday at Dalvaid, under ideal weather. The catering was again in the capable hands of Mr John Munro, merchant, Strathy, and as efficiency is a general quality with him, everything was complete. Mr Munro is one of the most prominent of the younger men of the congregation. He threw himself with zest into all the games and sports, and this helped to make the outing a signal success. The supervision of the tea, etc., was in the hands of Mrs Munro, the Manse, Strathy, and Mrs John Munro, Strathy West.
