— Authorities have released the names of two Illinois residents who died Thursday in a three-vehicle crash near Hill City.
The crash occurred at 1:51 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, on U.S. Highway 385 at mile marker 89, about 8 miles northeast of Hill City.
U.S. Highway 385 was closed for approximately four hours.
Kurt Klokkenga and his passenger, Regina K. Klokkenga, 69, of Emden, Illinois, were wearing helmets and sustained fatal injuries.
Kendall Klokkenga was transported to a Rapid City hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
