Simon and June Pither are set to apply for outline planning permission for between one- and four-bed units at Greenway Farm, on the edge of Bishops Lydeard. In a letter to Bishops Lydeard Council, which is due to discuss the proposed development on Wednesday (August 12), GTH planning consultant Laura Polley said: “The site will also be submitted to Somerset Council as part of the recently reopened Call for Sites. “The former Taunton Deane area cannot demonstrate a five-year housing land supply and as such the presumption in favour of sustainable development applies. “The presumption in favour of sustainable development (in this case new homes) is therefore applied.” The applicants are hoping to receive feedback from Bishops Lydeard Parish Council on in relation to the emerging site layout and the proposed housing mix.
