Kalaburagi: A delegation of MPs from Kalyan Karnataka has urged the Union government to sanction major development projects under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) for minority-concentrated areas of the region, citing gaps in education, healthcare, basic infrastructure and employment opportunities. The delegation included Raichur MP G Kumar Naik, Davangere MP Prabha Mallikarjun, Ballari MP E Tujaram and Koppal MP Rajshekhar Hitnal. The MPs said Kalyan Karnataka has historically remained underserved in terms of development and requires focused intervention to bridge gaps in essential infrastructure and human development. In the healthcare sector, the delegation sought projects for primary and community health centres as well as maternal and child healthcare facilities. The MPs added that the proposed interventions would help improve access to education and healthcare, create livelihood opportunities and strengthen essential civic infrastructure for minority communities in Kalyan Karnataka.
