A French national was charged for leaving two kids in a locked car outside the Secaucus Walmart on Friday afternoon, according to Police Chief Dennis Miller.
The mother of the children was present tending to the children upon police arrival.
It became known the mother went into Walmart to use their wifi and left the children with the father in the vehicle, but he later joined her in the store, leaving the children unattended, Miller told HCV.
The on scene investigation revealed that the children were unattended in the vehicle for approximately 13 minutes, which was not running and its windows were up.
Temperatures within the vehicle at the time of police arrival were determined to range from 129-154 degrees, the police chief also said.
