Iran appointed this Monday General Ali Abdollahi as chief of staff of the Armed Forces following the martyrdom of senior commanders in attacks executed by the United States and Israel. The restructuring of the high military command included the appointment of General Kioumars Heydari as deputy chief of staff. In parallel, Ahmad Vahidi was appointed commander of the IRGC forces, supported by General Mostafa Izadi in the operational deputy command. This is not the first time Iran has been forced to rebuild its military leadership after foreign attacks. In this sense, the Iranian Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and maintaining the stability of land and maritime borders under the direction of the new command structure.
