The gorse fire was reported at Lochore Meadows Country Park last night and two engines were dispatched to the scene. At the height of the fire, between 20 and 30 square metres of ground was ablaze. A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “A fire was reported in an open area – two appliances attended. "The alarm was raised at 7.39pm, and firefighters had left the scene by 9.30pm." Last night's incident comes after crews attended to a similar gorse fire in July at the park, which affected an area around 900 square metres in size.
