The Woodend Place shop shut on April 4 after the business owner, Modella Capital, announced insolvency proceedings earlier this year. Now, Butek Landline Ltd has applied to Fife Council for permission to change the use of the vacant building from a retail warehouse to an office and warehouse facility. The company wants to use the premises as its principal place of business, with office space for administrative, operational and management functions, alongside a warehouse for storage and distribution. No external alterations are proposed to the single-storey building, which is opposite Woodend Industrial Estate. In their supporting statement, agents ORA Architects said the proposal represented a “logical and sustainable re-use of an existing commercial building”.
