Historic AA sentry box near Ardgay vandalised

A listed building, the Ardgay sentry box is one of only around 19 of the original 1000 AA sentry boxes that still survive in the UK today and it is the furthest north - only seven remain in Scotland.
The Automobile Association (AA) Sentry Box (Box 504), located near Ardgay was targeted by vandals who tore its numbers from their fixtures.
A network of sentry boxes - small wooden huts on the side of British roads - was erected by the AA, starting from 1911.
AA Sentry Box No 504 was officially designated as a Category B listed building by Historic Environment Scotland in July, 2004.
