The Grosvenor Hotel in Stratford is back open for business after four years of being used as asylum seeker accommodation by the Home Office. The government took over the hotel in September 2022 but the contract came to an end in July this year, with the hotel reopening three weeks ago with bed and breakfast services only. During its time as asylum seeker accommodation, the hotel was home to a wide range of nationalities including people from Albania, Iran, Iraq and Sri Lanka. Hotel owners Bright Star has confirmed the reopening and that the Grosvenor has been “trading well” following a short closure after the building was handed back from the government.
