DICKINSON —Football season is officially back in Dickinson, with most 11-man teams kicking off their first day of practice today. In this week’s edition of Yesteryear, we look back at possibly the most dominant team to ever come out of southwest North Dakota and relive Dickinson Trinity’s 2001 state championship. Trinity ended the season at 12-0, while Hazen finished at 10-2. “They’re the best team we’ve played in all classes, B, 11-man or 2A,” Hazen coach Todd Johnson said. “You give him an opening and crack and he’s going to take it,” said Trinity coach Randy Gordon, who was named Class 2A coach of the year.
