Highland Council issues call for local people to join Pride in Place’s new Sutherland Neighbourhood Board

The call for board members follows the appointment of Frances Gunn and Ian Ross as co-chairs of the Sutherland Neighbourhood Board’Highland Council is acting as the accountable body and local administrator for the £19.6 million Pride in Place Programme in Sutherland.
The Pride in Place programme is designed to empower local communities to take a leading role in driving positive change, supporting sustainable economic growth, improving local places and creating opportunities for residents.
“The Neighbourhood Board will play a key role in identifying priorities, championing local projects and ensuring investment reflects the needs and aspirations of communities across the area.”
Ian Ross, co-chair of the Neighbourhood Board, added: "The success of the Pride in Place programme depends on strong local leadership and community involvement.
Anyone interested in joining the Sutherland Neighbourhood Board is invited to submit an application by 5pm on Tuesday, August 25.
