Near the checkout desk, shelves hold toy boxes from the Toy Lending Library of South Dakota designed for children from birth through age 5.
The Mitchell Public Library’s Toy Lending Library area features shelves of educational toy kits available for families to check out on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026.
That changed earlier this summer when Roger Musick approached the library about joining the Toy Lending Library network.
We see becoming a Toy Lending Library partner as another way to achieve these goals."
When toy kits are returned to the Mitchell library, they are held until staff transport them back to the Toy Lending Library in Sioux Falls.
