A few months after initial plans were revealed for a massive data center campus in eastern Goochland, the project’s developer has officially kicked off its bid for county approval. The project is the first data center project proposed in the county since the passing of the TOD last November. As now proposed, the tech park would consist of seven development areas where data center structures could be built. The application also hints at potential limitations on who the end users of the data center buildings would be. Tract’s Goochland proposal comes after the company was rejected for another sizable data center campus it had pitched in Hanover County.
