Vertical construction was underway: foundations for Buildings #1 and #2 were poured, the elevator pit slab and walls were complete, and shear walls for Building #1 were finished. Excavation for Building #3’s foundation had also begun. Designed for resilience, the 30-bed facility will house seasonal interns for SCCF and its partners — the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium and Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW). Completion is anticipated by the spring, in time for the sea turtle nesting season.
