Nova Scotia RCMP have accused a man of attempting to kill a woman known to him before he was arrested on the weekend in a wooded area in suburban Halifax.
At the time, police issued an emergency alert to warn the public that the suspect was considered armed and dangerous.
Police emergency response teams tracked down the man and arrested him in the woods, though the firearm allegedly used in the earlier shooting was not found.
Aside from an attempted murder charge, the 36-year-old man from Annapolis County has also been charged with eight firearm offences, two vehicle-related offences, flight from police and failure to comply with three release orders.
