In a a statement, Ajay Kumar said the revival of the two pump houses was the outcome of the “relentless struggle” led by senior BRS leaders K.T. He accused the Congress government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, of pursuing what he described as a politically motivated campaign against the Kaleshwaram project out of “vendetta” against former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). According to the BRS leader, the government’s alleged attempts to render the project ineffective had ultimately failed. Describing Kaleshwaram as the “lifeline of Telangana’s water security,” Ajay Kumar said the irrigation project was conceived with a long-term vision by KCR to meet the state’s future irrigation and drinking water requirements. The former minister urged the state government to ensure the full-scale operation and maintenance of the Kaleshwaram project by bringing all pump houses and associated pumping systems into effective use.
