A 54-year-old man will be in a Halifax courtroom on Tuesday to face charges in relation to a bomb threat that evacuated the downtown the day prior. On Monday morning, Halifax Regional Police said they found a vehicle in Purdy’s Wharf parkade that was suspicious. An emergency alert was sent and police started evacuating the downtown for a bomb threat. At the same time police said they arrested a man wanted in connection with the incident near the Canada Games Centre. Ali Assakereh, 54, is facing charges of uttering threats and public mischief in relation to the investigation, which police say is ongoing.
