Nagpur: Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Wednesday announced the abolition of the registration fee levied on instruments of agricultural land partition among relatives. Minister Bawankule told that the state government has issued a notification whereby no registration fee will be charged on instruments of partition of agricultural land executed among co-sharers or family members under Section 85 of the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966. This decision will make the family land partition process simpler, more transparent, and financially affordable, providing major financial relief to farming families. Earlier, a fee of Rs 200 was charged on instruments of agricultural land partition (gift deeds) executed among family members, following a decision taken in 2016. Consequently, along with the rules under the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, quasi-judicial hearing processes will be expedited by sending notices via email, Minister Bawankule added.
