The City of Fremantle has released a guide to what murals can and can’t contain and how to go about having one created. The mural artwork guide is intended to support artists, community groups, businesses, property owners and residents who are looking to create mural artworks in the city. Murals can be recorded in the city’s mural register to help protect them from graffiti or feature on the city’s public art map which is in development. City director of creative arts and community Pete Stone said the guide would help promote more successful and sustainable mural projects. “This guide makes it easier for anyone to get involved while ensuring murals are planned, protected and celebrated into the future.”The guide is available on the city’s website.
