It’s halfway through summer here in Steamboat and once again we are in full car chaos season. Several years ago cars were approved on the streets and alleys with supposed speed limits. Cars are effectively three-ton motor vehicles and a walk down Lincoln Avenue is a stroll down a race track. We cannot put the car genie back in the bottle but we can do our best to make it safer. I would propose mandatory car training by next summer for anyone over 16, more signs especially on the streets and mandatory safety handouts at the car dealerships.
