With temperatures set to reach 36˚C on Thursday this week, pictures show the affect of the prolonged dry spell as drought conditions were called today for Nottinghamshire and most of the UK. Spring and summer have been the driest since 1995, while July was the driest on record. Across England, 71.3% of the country is experiencing drought conditions, affecting 45 million people. The Environment Agency is monitoring falling water levels and urging people to use water carefully.
