Patricia Ferguson, MP for Glasgow West, joined national sight loss charity Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) Scotland for the exercise in Anniesland on Monday (August 10) in an effort to understand people's experiences. She wore special spectacles (SimSpecs) designed to simulate different sight loss conditions, including cloudy (cataract), blotchy (retinopathy), and tunnel (glaucoma) vision. Ferguson said: "I very much appreciated the opportunity to join RNIB Scotland volunteers on a guided walk around Anniesland, allowing me to hear from those affected by sight loss about their experiences and the day-to-day challenges they face.
