A former translator for the British Army in Afghanistan has been sentenced to seven years in prison after raping a teenager. Abdul Nabizada was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh on Tuesday after being found guilty at a trial last month. Mr Justice Morris told Nabizada that his crime had a "long-lasting impact" on the victim, which she had described in a victim impact statement. Mr Justice Morris said Nabizada was described in positive references submitted before sentencing as a "family man" with four children. 'Took advantage of vulnerability'Faye Cook, procurator fiscal for High Court sexual offences, said the conviction was the result of the victim's courage in coming forward and the determined work of police officers.
