The #TELresearchers & #HEresearchers initiative, founded by Puiyin Wong, Senior Academic Lead for Digital Education at Bucks New University, has been recognised with a prestigious Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) from Advance HE. Puiyin launched the project while studying for a PhD at Lancaster University, working alongside fellow researcher John Brindle, now Learning Design Manager at Edge Hill University. Now based at Bucks New University, she continues to lead the volunteer-run initiative, which brings together researchers, doctoral students and higher education professionals through free online events and recordings. Professor Damien Page, Vice-Chancellor of Bucks New University, praised the project's "unique take" on academic life and said it was helping people better understand the individuals at the heart of universities. The 2026 CATE winners will be formally recognised at an awards ceremony in Edinburgh on September 24.
