Steamboat Springs police arrested a man Monday evening after he allegedly fired shots and broke windows at a Riverside Drive residence belonging to his father. The suspect, Andrew Matthews, 28, was taken into custody shortly before 6 p.m. on Monday at a Deerfoot Avenue home Steamboat Springs Police Chief Mark Beckett said belonged to his family. Douglas Matthews’ next court date in the child pornography case is scheduled for Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. in Routt County Court. After neighbors reported the shots fired and windows breaking on Monday afternoon, Beckett said law enforcement used Flock Cameras and a drone to track the subject to the Deerfoot address. Where we are, the closest residence, there was no threat to the public,” said Beckett in a phone call on Monday evening.
