Guests included the High Sheriff of the IW Nigel Hartley, the mayors of Cowes and East Cowes and representatives from numerous local businesses, sailing clubs and other organisations that have supported Experience Cowes in its aim to showcase the area as two vibrant communities, united as one destination. The Dar Młodzieży is the first Polish-built, ocean-going sailing vessel to circumnavigate the globe (1987–88) and it last visited Cowes in 1983. It proved quite the spectacle from the shoreside.
