COVENTRY Sphinx twice surrendered the lead in a 4-3 defeat against Sutton United in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup. Sphinx led through goals from Yahiya Todd and Damian Kelly either side of half time at Coleshill Road. Sphinx and Sutton both play at Step Five with the latter side plying their trade in the Midland Football League Premier Division. Sutton equalised four minutes after half time as Jayden Hunter turned Lewis Wall’s flick-on into the net. And the hosts stunned Sphinx three minutes later when Tom Massey’s volley flew into the net from outside the penalty area to complete the turnaround.
