The Contra Costa Water District is offering two free tours this fall that will give residents a behind-the-scenes look at how drinking water makes its way from its source to their taps. CCWD’s Value of Water Tour is a day-long bus tour that takes participants to several of the district’s key facilities, including a Delta intake, Los Vaqueros Reservoir, the Contra Costa Canal and a water treatment plant. The fall tours are scheduled for Monday, Sept. 28, and Monday, Oct. 19. Space is limited, and the tours typically fill up quickly. Participants must be at least 18 years old and live or work within CCWD’s service area.
