After losing the opening set at Lorain on Oct. 4, the Sailors showed resiliency to win the next three and the match, 24-26, 25-20, 25-22, 25-14. "I really think it's about staying together as a team," Vermilion sophomore Sophie Habermehl said. Another key run of six straight points gave Vermilion a 21-14 lead in set two. Lorain battled back to cut the deficit to two, but the Sailors rattled off three more points for the win. Both teams return to action in their respective conferences Oct. 7 as Vermilion hosts Port Clinton and Lorain travels to Mentor.
