The State Department said on Monday that under the Trump administration it had revoked more than 175,000 visas from foreign citizens whom it accused of committing crimes and endangering the safety of Americans. Some visas were revoked over what the State Department called attempts to abuse the immigration system. The State Department’s release did not include names or details of where people were when their visas were revoked. The State Department said it was “committed to using every tool available to protect our communities” from people who it said abused visas.
