We’re living in an age of wide distribution of fake health information. Intentionally fake health sites (some promoted by the current administration) are gaining traction. In particular, influencers targeting older women with fake “cures” on social media are popular. When you add social media algorithms that amplify extreme, misleading and fear-based content, it’s easy to see how misinformation spreads like wildfire. If we want to make America healthy again, the answer isn’t raw milk or red beans.
