Clarence Runners, which operates out of Clarence Park, Bury, launched its 3k Social Group in September 2025 as part of its Thursday evening schedule to help people move from run-walk sessions to longer distances. "So I suggested a 3K group to give people the confidence to progress from the Jeffers to the 5K Social Group at their own pace. Clarence Runners was founded by Nick Whitley in January 2022 and has grown into a welcoming group for runners of all abilities. Mr Whitley, who is also chair of the group, said: "Seeing the success of the 3K Social Group has been fantastic. The group hopes to see continued growth and introduce even more people to the benefits of running.
