Ongoing professional learning has given me the research and language to transform that frustration into advocacy for the kind of human-centered education our students deserve. This experience highlighted the consequences of decision-making that prioritizes programs and platforms over student outcomes and teacher expertise. My involvement with PAUSE (Parents Advocating for Unplugged Schools & Education) has strengthened my commitment to addressing the growing “EdTech creep” in our classrooms. I encourage parents, educators and community members to attend the next school board meeting to advocate for thoughtful, research-based technology policies that put student learning, relationships, and well-being first.
