I couldn’t bear the people who immediately, eagerly started referring to it as Civil War II––or, worse, Civil War 2, as if it were a game. When he was president, Andrew Im loved saying “win-win” and “win-win-win” and “everyone wins” about almost everything, including Disunion. The people who negotiated the details agreed long ago, for tedious reasons involving fiscal years, that Disunion Day would fall on the 30th of June. At first I found the term Disunion too clinical and wonky. It’s also a universally familiar concept, unlike Disunion.
