‘Devastated’ RNLI staff strike over factory closure plans and unfair redundancy offer

They say talks with the RNLI ended in a stalemate after the charity told them it had "nothing to negotiate with".
This morning, staff backed by union Unite held placards reading 'If RNLI care why not pay fair?'
Staff are calling for improved redundancy packages to give them time to find new jobs.
"At the end of the day they might say we're greedy asking for a bigger redundancy packages but what we're actually looking for is time," Scott said.
"The enhanced package we have offered to Inshore Lifeboat Centre staff goes above statutory requirement and compares positively across the charity sector."
