A lane on the eastbound carriageway, near Junction 22 for Old Colwyn, was shut on Sunday afternoon (August 9) as emergency services attended the scene of a crash. Police confirmed that the incident involved two coaches and the road was re-opened more than three hours later. "They were both in the hard shoulder, with one lane closed, but glass everywhere. A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 3.05pm on 9 August to report a collision on the eastbound side of the A55 at Colwyn Bay involving two coaches. "The road was closed whilst emergency services attended and was reopened shortly after 6.30pm."
