MINDEN, N.Y. (WNYT) – Fort Plain Police said they have arrested a woman after investigators said she poured a chemical onto her boyfriend’s face, causing severe burns. Areon M. McNair, 31, has been charged with first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. McNair allegedly threw the caustic chemical, which caused burns and disfigurement. Two children were also present during the incident and exposed to fumes from the chemical, according to police. McNair was arraigned in Minden Town Court and sent to Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
