Christopher Wright, 73, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court after being convicted of murdering 55-year-old Richard Dyson. His childhood friend, Karl Schwalbe, 72, was jailed for three years after being found guilty of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Police discovered his remains inside a trailer Wright had left at nearby Alderthwaite Farm almost six years earlier. Phone records revealed Wright contacted Schwalbe twice on the night of the murder, while CCTV captured Schwalbe’s vehicle travelling to and from Wright’s property. Jamie Barton, senior crown prosecutor for CPS Yorkshire and Humberside, said Wright had 'brutally murdered Richard Dyson' before enlisting his lifelong friend to help conceal the crime.
