Will Glasgow see the solar eclipse? Latest forecast reveals a worrying catch
['Amy Myles']
Glasgow Times | News
Around 60% cloud cover is forecast during the day, rising towards 80% overnight, which could block the crescent Sun from view.
At the peak of the eclipse, about 92% of the Sun will be covered and it will appear low in the western sky.
The eclipse is set to begin just after 6pm in Glasgow, reach its maximum at 7.06pm, and end around 8pm.
A specific eclipse forecast puts cloud cover at 64% during the peak.
Those in Glasgow hoping to see the event have been warned never to look directly at the Sun – even during the eclipse.
