Community arts charity Impact Arts will launch its Impactful Parents employability programme in September. The scheme is also being expanded into Midlothian, East Lothian and West Lothian, following its success in West Lothian, where more than 60 unemployed parents have been supported in recent years. Impactful Parents is aimed at parents looking to build confidence, gain skills and move towards employment, further education or training. The programme combines practical employability help with creative activities including painting, sculpture, animation, music-making and creative writing. The Impactful Parents programme is free to attend and is open to Borders parents ready to explore work, education or training.
