Officially opened by Lake Parish Council chairman, Cllr Paul Brading, the public water bottle filling station is located near the public conveniences in Lake Cliff Gardens, at Skew Bridge, near Shanklin.
The facility is designed to encourage people to stay hydrated, while reducing reliance on single-use plastic bottles, and tackling marine litter.
Cllr Brading said: “Lake Parish Council is delighted to provide this new water fountain for the benefit of residents and visitors.
"We hope it will play an important role in reducing single-use plastic waste and protecting the local environment for future generations."
The installation was supported through the Sea-Changers Coastal Fountain Fund, backed by Bunzl plc, which helps not-for-profit organisations introduce publicly accessible water refill stations in coastal locations.
