The search for the company that will transform Yeovil’s Octagon Theatre is progressing, with Somerset Council expecting to appoint a main construction contractor in December. The Octagon has been closed since 2023, initially for a larger redevelopment project which was paused amid financial pressures. "This will be the team that will bring the new Octagon Theatre to life. "In December, Somerset Council will appoint and announce the main construction contractor." The planned redevelopment is being led by Somerset Council in partnership with Yeovil Town Council, which is expected to manage and operate the Octagon after the work is complete.
